Blushing Brides

Trending Now: Blushing Brides

Lots of beautiful brides are thinking pink. And, why not? One of the few colors that is forever flattering on everyone, from blush to fuchsia, neutral to neon, and everything in between. There are many ways you can give your special day a romantic touch of this becoming hue.

Accessories

For the men

Consider a petal vest and tie combination.

If that seems like too much pink, but you’re still looking for a touch of color, try a plaid or solid pocket square.

Socks are another fun and subtle way to incorporate your color into your menswear. Savvi Formalwear carries several styles you can pick up at our retail stores for a last minute groomsmen gift. Our favorite pick? This pair from Statement Sockwear. They have partnered with 20 Liters, a non-profit organization providing sustainable water filtration resources in Africa. Each pair of Statement Sockwear sold provides 100 days of clean drinking water for 1 person.

For the ladies

Pink can go glam as a wedding gown or a bridesmaid dress. Sparkle, no sparkle, either way everyone looks radiant in this rosy color.

If you don’t want to wear an entirely pink dress, opt for a splash of color in your shoes! A light pink shoe will show a little bit of fun with every step you take and can be worn over and over to remind you of your special event.

Jewelry is another easy way to work pink into your day. Pick out a statement necklace to go with a simple bridesmaid dress, or a great pair of earrings for everyone to have a coordinated look.

Looking for jewelry to wear after the wedding instead of at the wedding? Initial necklaces for the bridesmaids are the perfect thank you gift for all they’ve done for you.

And don’t forget the bride! A Mrs. necklace in rose gold is the perfect piece for the day after the wedding.

Flowers

A beautiful bouquet, a charming centerpiece, or paper boutonnieres are all great ways to put pink into your wedding day!

At the reception

Wow your guests with beautiful sparkly rose gold table cloths. These statement pieces will make any venue glamorous. Full floor length cloths on high top tables and runners over crisp white linens will add drama to any reception. Etsy carries many styles for purchase, but if renting is more your style Linen Effects carries several options.

A signature cocktail in the color of your wedding will have guests lined up at the bar waiting for sip of the pretty concoction.

Want to give a wedding favor the guests will really enjoy? Cookies, in your color, with your names stamped in the frosting will always be a crowd pleaser.

On your registry

Don’t think you have to give up your color inspiration after your wedding is over. Register for beautiful home items to always remind you of the love you felt on your special day. Flatware, serving dishes, and picture frames are great pieces to have for your future together.

Holiday Weddings: The 4th of July

The 4th of July is almost upon us and a wedding is a fun and festive way to gather all of your friends and family together to celebrate. There are so many cute ways to incorporate the theme and, let’s face it, firework wedding pictures are priceless. Go ahead; take the theme too far, after all it’s your big day and celebrating it on the 4th of July is not low-key or understated.

The Tuxedos, Suits and Accessories

Want to stay just ahead of trends? Choose a navy or midnight tuxedo. Savvi Minnesota carries two versions of classic looks in blue.

Navy Kingston, by Savvi Evening Collection

This tuxedo is a two button, single breasted coat with besom pockets, a side-vented back, and satin framed notch lapel. The fabrication is luxurious super 110s wool with a subtle tone-on-tone stripe. It is worn with matching flat front pants without a satin leg stripe. http://www.savviformalwear.com/Tuxedos/Navy-Kingston-by-Savvi-Evening-Collection-502.aspx

Midnight, by Michael Kors

This tuxedo will be available for Spring 2015 and is a two button, single breasted coat with besom pockets, a side-vented back, and satin framed notch lapel. The fabrication is a luxurious super 130s wool. It is worn with matching flat front pants.

Suits

If a suit is more your style Savvi can help you with that too. We carry a line of suits, including the perfect navy blue for your celebration. http://www.savviformalwear.com/Tuxedos/Navy-Suit-by-Caravelli-670.aspx

Accessories

Groom in white accessories and groomsmen in red or blue. A cute pocket square combo will help make the look festive.

The Pictures

You have to have sparklers!

Bridesmaids

Navy Blue – it’s forever classic, totally Americana, and looks great on everyone. Bonus if you can find a red barn to take pictures in front of.

Red - a great alternative for bridesmaid dresses. Since it July is hot, we love the idea of keeping the bridesmaids cool in short dresses {Allure Style 1300}.

Décor

Red and white damask print table cloths with blue accents keep this looking clean and festive. The hanging paper lanterns give a great textural element to the tent. See http://tickledpink.typepad.com/brideblog/2011/06/fourth-of-july-wedding-touches.html for more details from this fantastic 4th of July wedding.

Dessert

There are so many different and adorable options to keep in theme. Blueberry pies, white chocolate dipped cherries, strawberry tarts, red velvet cupcakes, the possibilities are endless. That said, cake is classic and is there really a more creative cake out there than this one?

Have a safe and fun 4th of July!

Savvi MN Tuxedos and More: A Brief History

Savvi Formalwear has been Minnesota’s premier provider of men’s formalwear for weddings, prom, college formals and black tie events for over 40 years. The Southdale Center, in Edina, is home to our very first location, built by our current owner’s father in 1972. Originally named Gingiss Formalwear, in 2004 our name changed to Savvi Formalwear. By 2005 we grew to nine locations across the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. In 2012, it was time for a major expansion. We acquired Nedrebo’s Formalwear (http://nedrebos.com/), based out of Madison, Wisconsin and added six more retail stores. Then in late 2013, the tuxedo rental landscape underwent a change when Anderson’s Formalwear went out of business. We acquired our 17th location, inside of Angelique’s Bridal Salon, in Blaine, Minnesota.

While our locations have been expanding so has our selection of merchandise. We offer hundreds of the latest designer styles in tuxedos and formalwear accessories. Michael Kors, Allure Men, Ike Behar, Joseph Abboud, Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis, Calvin Klein and our own proprietary line, Savvi Black Label, are all included in our expansive merchandise selection. We will always strive to offer the latest in designer labels and current styles. However, we are more than just tuxedos and formal accessories:

  • Suits and Menswear – We’ve made dressing for your rehearsal dinner, honeymoon, graduation or other special event even easier. We carry a full line of suits, dress shirts, ties, tie bars, and belts. All at affordable prices. http://www.savviformalwear.com/wedding/suits.aspx

  • Photography – Traditional, photojournalistic, or a blend of the two. We have photographers who are able to capture your day perfectly. Captue each moment and cherish the memories.

  • Videography – Complete HD coverage, a fully edited Wedding Story highlight film and you won’t miss out on any of the great memories of your day. We provide a wide assortment of packages to suit your needs and budget.

  • Wedding Flowers – We’ll help you decorate your dream day with bridesmaid bouquets, bridal bouquet, boutonnieres, corsages, and blooms by the box for all your DIY needs.

  • Invitations – Invites set the tone for your whole wedding. We have a huge assortment of save-the-dates, invites, response cards, reception cards, map cards, thank you cards, and any other stationery you may need.

  • Entertainment – Our DJ packages are customized based on your unique style and preferences. Your DJ will know exactly how to get the reception going and how to keep everyone on the dance floor.

See www.savviminnesota.com for more details on how we can help with all of your wedding needs.
